Trimester 1 (2008/2009)

I participated in an exchange to Nanyang Business School (NBS) during the fall of 2008.  NBS was a natural choice due to its status as a hub in Asia, proximity to numerous other countries, and its reputation as a developed, clean and safe country.

Although I was initially disappointed at not being able to enroll in all of my preferred classes, I am still pleased with the experience in general.  The teaching method was very interactive, allowing for opportunities to learn from fellow students, and assignments were challenging yet fair.  My professors were always available outside of class time to answer questions and clarify concepts.  My colleagues were equally easy to work with – an important factor when considering the amount of group work that is necessary.

The blend of cultures also enriched my experience – a number of activities and trips were organized informally by students, as well as formally by the International Student Centre.  Overall, I enjoyed my time in Singapore and hope to return again one day!
